Hot Player: Complete Setup Guide
What is Hot Player and why do IPTV users choose it?
Hot Player is a lightweight IPTV media player designed for simplicity. Unlike more complex players that demand technical configuration, Hot Player is built around a clean interface that gets you watching in minutes. Its growing popularity in the Nordic IPTV community comes down to three things: fast loading, reliable EPG support, and compatibility across a wide range of devices.
If you have just received your IPTV Reseller subscription credentials via WhatsApp and want to start watching quickly, Hot Player is one of the fastest routes from credentials to content.
What devices does Hot Player support?
Hot Player runs on Android TV boxes, Android phones, and Android tablets. It is available through the Google Play Store and does not require sideloading. If you are using an Apple device or a Smart TV, refer to our full setup guide which lists the best alternative apps for every platform.
For users on Windows PC, we recommend IBO Player Pro or VU Player Pro from the Microsoft Store instead of Hot Player, as those are better optimised for desktop use.
How do I install Hot Player on my Android device?
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device or Android TV box. Search for Hot Player and install the application. The download is small and installs in under a minute on most connections. Once installed, open the app and you will be presented with the setup screen.
How do I add my IPTV playlist to Hot Player?
When you open Hot Player for the first time, tap Add Playlist on the home screen. You will see two options: M3U URL or Xtream Codes. If your IPTV Reseller credentials came as an M3U link, select M3U URL and paste it into the field. If you received a username, password, and server address, select Xtream Codes and enter each field.
After confirming, Hot Player will fetch your playlist. Depending on the size of the content library this can take between 10 and 60 seconds. Once loaded, your categories and content will appear in the main menu.
How do I set up the EPG (TV guide) in Hot Player?
A working EPG makes live TV far more usable. In Hot Player, go to Settings → EPG and paste the EPG URL that came with your IPTV Reseller credentials. If no EPG URL was provided, contact us via WhatsApp and we will supply one for your subscription.
Allow a few minutes for the EPG data to download. Once complete, the guide will show programme titles, times, and descriptions alongside your live channels.
Why is my stream buffering in Hot Player?
Buffering in Hot Player is almost always caused by one of three things: insufficient internet speed, a congested server at peak hours, or an app cache issue. For 4K streams, a minimum of 25 Mbps is recommended. Try switching to an SD or HD version of the stream first to rule out a bandwidth issue. If buffering continues, clear the app cache via Android settings and restart. If the problem persists, message us on WhatsApp and we will check your server connection.
Can I use Hot Player on multiple devices with one subscription?
A single-device subscription allows use on one device at a time. If you need to watch on multiple screens simultaneously, consider a multi-device plan which supports 2, 3, or 5 concurrent connections. Simply install Hot Player on each device and enter the same credentials — your plan will determine how many streams can run at once.
Is Hot Player compatible with Firestick?
Hot Player is an Android-based app and is not natively available on the Amazon App Store for Firestick. For Firestick users, we recommend IBO Player Pro (Downloader code: 481220) or IBO Player (code: 1171959) instead. Both are optimised for the Firestick interface and remote control navigation. See our setup guide for full Firestick instructions.
